ARTIST STATEMENT:  NIGHT LIGHT

The human eye is limited to biology, while the camera is not. I am interested in the differences between what I see at night compared to what my camera captures. There is point where the eye physically fails to see true color and even shape. The camera has the unique ability to continually absorb light until the shutter is closed, allowing multiple seconds to become one image. What is visually discerned varies from person to person, species to species, but the camera has no biological limitations as to what it captures. Technology can sometimes step in  when our senses fail.
